Our voyage began in 2017, in Mallorca — after months in the boatyard turning the QK-IV into our home. Greece was our destination, but the sea had other plans. What we found was much more than a route on the map: six months of “first times,” of discovering hidden places and meeting unforgettable people along the way. The Greek islands may be a paradise, but the journey to reach them — that was a voyage for eternity.

OCTOPUS WITH POTATOES

FIG JAM

1 Octopus – 4 Potatoes – Sweet Paprika

Boil the octopus and the potatoes separately.
Slice the potatoes and place them on a plate, topping each slice with a piece of octopus.
Sprinkle with salt and sweet paprika, then drizzle generously with olive oil.

1 kg Figs – 400 g Sugar – 1 Lemon

Place the unpeeled figs, cut into quarters, in a pot together with the sugar and the lemon juice.
Stir constantly for about 30 minutes, then blend the mixture. Let it simmer gently for another 30 minutes until it thickens.

We arrived at the perfect time. These extraordinary rock formations, sculpted into towering vertical shapes over more than thirty million years and crowned by beautiful monasteries inhabited by monks, stood ready to welcome the setting sun. Accompanied by other visitors and the curious presence of a small red fox wandering through the area, we settled on top of a rock and became front-row spectators to a breathtaking landscape you never tire of admiring — the towering rounded rocks, the monasteries perched high above and seemingly suspended in the air, the colours created by mist and sunlight, and that quiet peace that lives within the place, where wherever you look, there is always something to discover, something spiritual that connects with your inner self. Each rock changes shape with the movement of the sun, gradually falling into shadow, though never losing its soul, because within them still lingers the passing of time, the cold breeze, the winds, and the winter rains.

Who would have thought it… how quickly time passes. No matter how much you wish you could stop it, days, months, and years move at a speed close to that of light. Fast, very fast.

But what truly matters is that we are still here, alive and kicking, with a few more wrinkles, a few more grey hairs and, if we are honest, a few extra kilos too. But what does it matter? We are here, alive and very much alive, enjoying life and writing each day in that beautiful book of life — the one written without letters, only with experiences and memories that will stay with us year after year until we reach our final voyage.
